Much Improved

I've encountered these beds before, several years earlier, and was not impressed. I had hoped for improvement, but had my doubts. After the box arrived, I opened it, got the instructions and read them prior to doing anything. This airbed is very easy to operate..there is no work on your part other than making sure it is set up in a neutral area (No Sharp Objects ANYWHERE NEARBY). I timed the blow-up and did switch the controls to off after 5mins. The bed looked completely blown up and I got on it to try it out. I was amazed at how much "like a bed" this felt. It is very comfortable and feels like...well...a bed! The "headboard" feature is nice because it keeps your pillows on the bed where they belong. The topside of the bed is velvety so any sheets, covers you put on the surface will remain in place. It is indeed queen-size. I think that if you follow the instructions, keep the blow-up to 5mins--and no more at any one time, (you can always start the blow-up again after you've given the motor time to cool down)--no sharp objects EVER! in the vicinity of the bed and keep pets off it, it should last a good while and if you take care of the motor (no more than 5mins any onetime), you will have a functional airbed for a good, long while.

Love this bed!

I have so many good things to say about the Intex Headboard Airbed that I do not know where to start. The setup is so easy. Plug it in and let it air itself up. Once full, slide the switch to lock in the air and unplug it. The material has a brushed service and does not smell of plastic like some other inflatables do. The headboard does need more space but the tradeoff of not having to pick your pillows off the floor several times during the night and the added security of having the sheet fit in between the headboard and bed is worth it. The mattress is 18" high which makes it easier to get up. I used king size sheets so they fit all around the entire mattress and between the headboard. On the first night the mattress did sink a bit as was expected. The mattress has to stretch a bit when first used. The second night there was just a tiny bit of give and on the third night the mattress stayed firm the entire time. Deflating this bed is just as easy as set up. Plug in, flip the switch to deflate and let it do its thing. I wanted to help it along but quickly realized I had to do nothing. Once deflated we rolled it up and put it in the included storage bag. The entire process is so easy, we will use this so much more than our older version. Love this bed!

Comfortable, great size, easy to use!

I really think the company thought of everything in the design of this bed! We're using it for college son, since I took over his room (sorry, son). He was home this past weekend and we tried it out. As the picture shows, he and the dogs both loved it. He especially loved: the fact that it blows up by itself, in just a few short minutes, with only the push of a button, nothing to do but wait! After that, it was just a matter of flopping down on it and going to sleep. But he also loved that there was that handy headrest; in fact, I believe that was his favorite part, as he played video games till the wee hours and said the headrest made it especially comfortable for both him and the dogs. The dogs have pretty sharp nails, too, but there were no leaks created after two nights of sleeping with son on the airbed, so I was impressed by that. I was also impressed by the height of the airbed, as it was a lot higher than most airbeds I've used, and actually a lot LONGER, too. As you can see in picture, my son was able to lay completely on the bed with room leftover, and he is six foot five! Amazing that this airbed had more length to it than his dorm room bed! I wanted to be careful folding it up, and it is a big airbed, so we ended up packing it up in a 45-gallon plastic tote. You don't have to do that, of course, but I wanted to be super careful to avoid accidental punctures, as we've had several leaks from airbeds in the past and I don't want to take a chance on this one. We folded it very loosely, and that's why it took up all the space in a huge tote, but we're going to keep it in our storage building just to be safe. But all in all, we could not be happier with this airbed!
