81 Piece Funny Bricks Gear Building Toy Set - Interlocking Learning Blocks - Motorized Spinning Gears

This was a gift from a family member for our grandkids (4 and 5). Based on her observation at a popular Craft Event in her area where they were being promoted and her excitement of watching them work, I purchased another set before opening the first one. Based on prior experience with kids games/toys, I was pretty sure that 81 pieces would be nothing. I was right! Immediately, I was disappointed. Each set had the battery compartment screw missing. Also, one part broke while trying to snap it together. There are no directions included, only pictures. It looks relatively simple, but was not that easy to understand how to construct something as the tiles snap together in different ways. And then to get the gears to snap on with the four prong attachment was frustrating as they kept coming off of the tile. We were working on the floor on flat carpet, and maybe a table would have been better but nonetheless it was overall frustrating. As I said, I purchased two boxes (162 pieces) and there is not much chance of building most of what is seen on You Tube or on the box. The younger whom actually has built amazing things with legos, became frustrated. The 5 year old kept playing with them, but never actually got the concept nor was able to complete a multi gear construction piece.
