One size doesn't fit all

Why is their no standard sizing for these things? Different brands have different sizes, so fit better than others. Filterbuy is a bit smaller than comparable Filtrete of the same size, they all have their interpretation of 20x25x4. These may be great filters, and I knew the actual size before I bought, just don't understand why there isn't a standard. Lot of space around these compared to my filtrete.

Not as snug as the OEM filter

This filter was about 1/4 inch shorter than the filter that came with the HVAC unit. I needed to pad the underside with strips of with cardboard, so that it would fit snugly up to the top of the slot, since air travels across the top.

Pleated air filter dimensions

Outside dimensions are smaller than most all other filters I've used. The filters have a loose fit in the filter housing. Since all 5 of my filters are in the ceilings, the filters drop down after the blowers shuts off. That's OK with me, but the filters snap back up each time the blower starts, resulting in an objectionable snap. I will be going back to my big box store's filters even though they are more expensive.
