These are very light weight which will be easier for my aging hands to pick up. However, I wouldn't even consider using them on a gas stove. They're so lightweight that I would guess aluminum but the box says stainless steel. As we were putting the handles on we got to the last lid and was one screw short. So overall, I wouldn't buy these as a gift for anyone and I can't wait to see what the dishwasher does to them. Tomato sauce could be interesting as well.

Waste Of Money

I see why they are on clearance. Thought I was getting a nice set of stainless steel cookware at great price at half off. What I got instead was a busted box with a scratched nonstick skillet and the largest pot has a white spot that won't come out. I took pictures so I'll be posting those. You'd think at almost $80 regular price they would be a little better quality.
