It should do the trick
I expected the vinyl to be heavier but it is just a thin product with no flannel on the back side. As long as it is sturdy it should do the trick. I'd be careful when using tablecloth clips that you don't tear the vinyl when placing or removing the clips.....and maybe it is a sturdier product than that. I cannot exactly tell you because I purchased these as gifts so I've not used them. I'm just going by feel of the product. I think if you are careful they should easily serve their purpose.
