Unique Loom Medici Salamanca Rug, Light Blue (5' 0 x 8' 0)

I looked at several different websites to try and find reviews with photos of this rug in the “red” color, but could only find one. And due to that person’s poor lighting and dark photo I still couldn’t really tell what the true color was. I ordered this rug to go under our kitchen table, and I thought it would do well at hiding spills and messes that are inevitable in a home with 3 boys and pets. However, I was really hoping it was more “red” and less pink/fuschia in person. Turns out, its even more purple-y pink than the photos. The problem is, its almost impossible to get an accurate photo of the color because the color is so bright and intense, that my camera freaked out every time I tried to get a photo! Every photo makes it look more “warmer reddish pink” but in reality its a “cooler more fuschia pink” The rug arrived folded and wrapped in a tarp like plastic. As soon as i saw the color, i knew it wasn’t going to work. But, I unwrapped it and partially spread it out in my livingroom just to make sure. I didn’t want to go through the hassle of moving our kitchen table and chairs when I was already pretty sure I’d be returning it. The photo with the white dish is pretty accurate as far as the color goes. ( finally figured out I had to make my camera try and focus on something else to capture the real color) Anyways, I think this would be a darling rug in the right space. Unfortunately, its just not what I was hoping for so I wrapped it back up and returned it to the store about an hour after it arrived. I wasnt that impressed with the quality either. It felt pretty cheaply made and I didn’t foresee it holding up very well in such a high traffic area like our kitchen. The fibers/pile did not feel thick and dense, in fact it felt pretty sparse compared to other rugs I’ve purchased. I didn’t notice any odors with the rug until I was walking directly behind it while pushing it in a cart back into the store. It definitely had a chemical smell that I could hardly stand while being so close to my face like that. I already have a different rug from a different brand on the way. Hoping for better luck when option number 2 arrives! P.S- the label on the rug lists it as being part of the “Palazzo collection”, and the color is listed as violet/cherry. Those colors describe it much better than “red”. I don’t know why websites change the name and color of a rug on their listings. The manufacturer knows best!
