Ultimate Light Blocker Certified 100 Percent Blackout Sheridan Smart Curtain Window Curtain Panel

These curtains are the first I have found that do block 100% of light. I have tried others and they filter light but do not truly block it out. The trick is the lining is black backed shower curtain type of fabric. The back of the black is a soft to the touch white—so it does not look like a plastic shower curtain. I have made custom curtains that block 100% of light but it takes at least 2 layers of lining including black lining. I really didn't want to get into all of that so I was looking for simple grommet panels that could be purchased at a reasonable price. Hopefully these will be carried in the stores (online only right now) because color is hard to judge from a monitor. I first ordered the sand and it was a dark latte color. The second set I ordered was the bleached linen which is actually white. The problem is the black side of the lining faces the material (because you don't want black visible from the street) That causes the white to have a gray cast, so it does not appear truly white. If I were making them I would have to add an additional white lining on top and bottom of the black (3 layers) to prevent the discoloration. My other wish is that they come in longer than 84 inch length. I gave them 5 stars because they DO truly block light and heat from the sun which is what I was looking for to lower A/C demand and make my room completely dark for sleep. Aesthetically speaking I would have preferred the lining not to have the shower curtain sound and discolor the white, but it was not a deal breaker. Sleep is important and energy cost savings as well. The curtain fabric is a decent linen-like basket weave, and the simple grommet style does not make them look like "cheap" curtains.
