The rubber is so stretchy that it stick really well to itself. it was a little hard to get the slip ons but the snow shoes I put them on will not need to take off. thats the good part. dont get me wrong, they work great!! It could be that I am 78 yrs old is the reason it was a bit on the hard side to pull over my shoes. the great thing is if you need them to be shorter on the top, you can cut it lower like I did.
