I didn't give this as a gift, I bought it for me to write. This diary does make me feel the motivation, as I can re-read my notes and learn. Why would I feel butterflies? I don't know? At the end of the day, this is can be a good spiral notebook too. My package delivered on time, hasn't been damaged, opened, touched. But the Walmart box it was delivered in was open, so someone was looking in the box, and wasn't supposed to.

I have never had a diary with a lock and combination. It's wonderful. Makes me feel like my thoughts are truly private. The pen that's included is absolutely wonderful! I wish I knew the brand of pens so that I could buy more. It's the only pen that makes my handwriting look great. Aside that the paper is smooth and of a great quality. When I run out of pages I look forward to finding inserts that fit so I can use this indefinitely. The only drawback is that the combination can be hard to set because it's not easy to see the small grooves in the metal. Aside from that it's perfect.
