The size is perfect, not too small, not too big. The timer has large display numbers making them easy to see from a distance with nice big buttons making for easy use. I purchased 3 of these timers for the kitchen and have the same problem with all three. The issue is with the magnet on the back. It's just not strong enough and the magnet does not make good enough contact with the surface to keep it in place. It slides down and falls off when you touch the buttons. Other than that, the timer itself works great.
