This assistive device is very similar to one I used during hospital PT rehab. Price point from this supplier is attractive and quality is very good. It takes some strength to straighten the inner metal wire before use, but once set, the stiffness of the wire makes the item more useful.

This has been very helpful in my ability to recover from knee replacement surgery. It helps me get my leg up into bed, but also aids in some PT exercises until i am strong enough to lift it on my own. The length is long, so if you're tall, that is good, but the handle can be formed to adjust to any length and firmly hold there.
