I have never “crated” a dog. I bought this to crate train our new puppy. He is a Catahoula leopard dog and I know that we're going to be taking him with us when we travel. So because he's going to be medium sized, I decided to get a crate so that if we had to leave him at the hotel or the B%26B that we would be able to leave him in a crate without him being scared. This is an amazing kennel. It's easy to assemble. It's heavier than you think it is and my little puppy loves it. He goes right in and goes to bed. I would happily recommend this to every pet owner. And it'll be great for travel because you can fold it down into a lot less space. It is made of plastic, but it's heavy duty plastic. I would say it's large enough for a small statured Pit Bull. Our puppy is supposed to get to about 40 pounds at his largest because his father was a mutt. This will suit him perfectly. I am sure. The color is gorgeous. We bought the blue one. Maverick goes right in and goes to bed all on his own.
