Two used Seagates for a RAID 5 NAS, both failed.

These were used drives for a RAID 5 NAS. I needed one and was keeping the other as a spare. The first drive came up in the NAS with 850 days of operation, but more than 460 bad sectors, so it failed the SMART test. I attempted to restore on this drive, and it failed completely about an hour in. The second drive had 470 days of operation and no bad sectors, and passed the SMART test, so I thought I was good to go. BUT this drive failed, "unreadable"e restoration was complete. From my experience, the vendor is supplying heavily used drives that they have not tested. Shipping one with 460 bad sectors is not kind to the customer! I would not touch them if I was you.

this company sells trash, thats why its on sale.

beware! this is *not* a new hard drive! after nearly destroying my computer, this hdd from donor drives reported over ten thousand hours of usage on a smartscan i did on it. thats like leaving the thing on for fifteen months straight! it gets lava hot, clicks wildly, made my system unboitable for a full day just by plugging it in and switching on my power. they are not helpful with returns, either.

Defective Product.

devices arrived early, but defective. I had a plan to raid the drives, but with one of them bad I was unable to use them period. Awaiting my RMA / Refund.
