This banana changed me as a person

I bought this banana with no expectations. I am a fool. This was not just a banana. This was a journey. Upon first contact, the banana arrived wearing a tasteful yellow coat with subtle green undertones.. bold, yet humble. Not too flashy. Not overripe. It clearly knows who it is. The curvature was ergonomic, as if designed by Apple, but for fruit. Steve Jobs would have approved. The peel came off with a satisfying shhhk, like it wanted to be eaten. No resistance. No drama. A team player. Inside? Perfection. Creamy. Smooth. The texture was somewhere between “comfort food” and “emotional support.” I briefly considered calling my mother to tell her I loved her. Flavor-wise, this banana understood the assignment. Sweet, but not braggy. Mild, but not boring. It didn’t try to be a strawberry. It didn’t pretend to be a mango. It stood confidently in its banana truth. Rare these days. I ate it standing in my kitchen, staring out the window, contemplating my life choices. Halfway through, I realized I had forgotten all my problems. Student loans? Gone. Responsibilities? Temporarily irrelevant. World events? Not my concern while this banana exists. No weird brown spots. No betrayal in the final bite. Consistent from start to finish.. something I wish I could say about most people I’ve dated. After consumption, I felt nourished. Centered. Slightly superior to anyone who has not yet eaten a Walmart banana today. I am now considering buying more bananas and starting a weekly ritual. In conclusion, if you are on the fence about purchasing this banana, take the leap. This banana will not fix your life, but it will hold your hand while you spiral, and honestly, that’s all I ask from produce. Would recommend to friends, family, enemies, and anyone who has ever felt misunderstood. 🍌 10/10. Would peel again.

These bananas understood the assignment.

Bought a bunch from Walmart and honestly? They deserve a raise. Came in perfectly green-ish yellow, ripened like they were following a textbook, and didn’t turn brown in 2 seconds like other grocery store bananas do. 10/10 potassium sticks. Would peel again.

Bananas are ... Well, Bananas.

I think it is funny that Walmart invited me to review a banana! The bananas I buy from the produce department are generally OK. When I buy them myself, I buy a mix of ripe and green so they last longer. When I opt for curbside or delivery, they tend to be one bunch of uniform color, and that's fine since the people shopping for me are doing a great job. So yes, I would recommend bananas, but if you want different levels of ripeness, you need to shop for yourself. Oh, and if you have bananas that are perfectly ripe, but you cannot eat them all before they begin to go downhill, just pop the whole banana into the freezer. The skin will turn dark, but the banana will retain its ripeness and be wonderful for smoothies, baking, and eating frozen - mmmm, dipped in chocolate!
