Great Product and Would Make a Great Gift!

I received my Fitbit Alta HR Heart Rate Wristband - Small, free, as a Walmart Spark Reviewer. This Fitbit would make a great gift for the Holidays for young or older. It is extremely easy to use. When I received mine there was no battery life so I plugged in to my iPhone plug. As soon as I did, I read www.fitbit.com (on the Fitbit screen), so I waited roughly five minutes and decided I would log into the website to see what I could figure out. I was actually sitting in my living room and checked out the Fitbit website while on my iPad. It was so easy. It asked if I wanted to download the app, I said yes, the app downloaded-I went to it and it said let's get started, so I was answering questions it asked, then at some point the screen flashed “searching.” I couldn't figure out what it was searching for (my Fitbit was charging in my kitchen) so I thought okay, I went in the kitchen took my Fitbit into the living room with me and the app found it and completed its download. The Fitbit measures your heart rate, really has a very long battery life. I haven't recharged since I have had this and first completely charged. This measures your exercise and automatically tracks your sleep as well. You can also sinc wirelessly and use your Fitbit to receive call and text notifications. Your Fitbit also shows the time and date on it. The cord has a clip that attaches to the three little dots on the back of the monitor and the other side plugs into your iPhone or Android plug to charge and takes roughly five to ten minutes to charge completely. Great product for any age group. The wristband is even interchangeable, if you decide you like another wristband better, you can take the wristband this Fitbit comes with and change with one of your choice.

Love my Alta HR

I have a Fitbit Alta and it has been a bit confusing for me to figure out, but I received my new Fitbit Alta HR Heart Rate Wristband and I just love it. It was really quite easy to set up and get all my information into it and read it back. My husband had a heart problem, so I really wanted a new Fitbit that would give me my heart rate. The Fitbit Alta HR does just that, so I'm able to keep track of my heart. I'm now very conscious of my heart activity more that ever now. The Alta HR fits real nice on my wrist. My first Alta was a small/large wristband combined and my new Alta HR is a small. It fits real nice on my small wrist. Its very attractive. I bought a lot of different color wrist bands for my Alta and they are all interchangeable with my new Fitbit Alta HR. My Alta HR came with the standard black wristband. I highly recommend the Fitbit Alta HR, especially if you are concerned about what your heart is doing. You can set your Alta HR to be worn on either wrist. You get the date and the time and how many steps you have taken during the day and any exercise you have set it for. Also it will keep track of any weight you lose. If any of the above are what you are interested in, then this Fitbit Alta HR is the one for you. It sure is for me.

Love it goning to keep using it-

First off, replace the band if you have silicone allergies or sensitive skin. There are leather and fabric options out there. To set some context for my review, I've never worn a fitness device outside of carrying my iPhone before trying this device. I'm also reasonably technical, and evaluate products based on my ability to pick them up and figure it out without reading instructions. Initially, I was concerned, after unboxing I had to consult directions to figure out step 1. After determining that step one was downloading the Fitbit iPhone app… I never looked back. The rest of the setup process was 100% guided by the app, and I was able to connect to the website, and connect a MyFitnessPal app to my Fitbit account as well. What I liked: The device is slim, and fits comfortably on my wrist. (Although, it seemed a bit big for my petite wife). I've not worn anything on my wrist for 20 years, and barring some minor challenges with my long sleeve tight cuffs, have been comfortable, and unobtrusive. The information I'm collecting I find fascinating to track. I love the sleep analysis information, and obviously the activity and heart rate information/baseline is great to keep track of. You can connect to phone and alert you when receiving a text on your phone. I've found this actually helps avoid missing texts when my phone was not in its usual place. (This works only if the phone is in reasonable proximity). What you want to be aware of: The display, although limited has basic functionality and when you raise your arm comes on with the time and heart rate. I've had some challenges tapping to get the display to respond to scroll through information it can show. This may be something I'm doing wrong, and I find I rarely ever attempt to look at the screen (never worn a watch), so for me this is not a big deal. When working out, Fitbit recommends a wearing in a slightly different position on your arm… it made a difference in accuracy when I followed their guide. I was disappointed it did not track floors climbed (although my phone does). Overall, the information I track daily has started to get me more conscious of my activity, sleep, and heart behavior and trying to exercise more. Keeping this one to see how long I can keep it going.
