I use an electric kettle 2-3x per day for tea and French press coffee, wanted a basic option for hot/iced tea as a holiday gift for my folks. This chefman kettle is fantastic! One-click control is easy and arthritis friendly, and water boils in 60-90 seconds. Way sexier than Silex for not much more money, plus the clear glass makes it easy to gauge the water level when you’re filling it and see when it reaches full boil. Note: I won’t be using the infuser because I’m not confident the kettle would stay “clean clean” or last as long - it’s so easy to make tea in large mason jars, I wouldn’t gain anything really. If my kitchen aid at home ever dies, I’ll replace it with this bad boy. 5 stars.

I think the option to make tea in this kettle is genius! I really try to stay hydrated during the summer and make tea to put in glass bottles....this was a quick way to make some without the extra heat from boiling on the stove and the clean up was a breeze. I REALLY appreciated the very good instructions included on clean up and avoiding the hard water buildup. I'm sure this will get a lot of use in the winter for oatmeal and hot cocoa - it's great how quickly the water heats up. Love it!
