Good Kettle

Good looking kettle, fashionable stainless steel. Within the first few seconds of turning it on, you can hear it beginning to heat up. It only takes a few minutes for it to reach boiling. To fill, there is a lid opener button on top of the handle. It works easily and smoothly, and pops open the lid for filling. There is a water level on the outside under the handle, to see how high it's filled. It's max fill level is 1 liter. The lever to turn it on is lit up when it is on. The on/off is a switch on the lower side of the kettle. The metal on the outside of the kettle does get hot, but the black plastic on the bottom and lower sides of the kettle and handle remain cool and touchable. tried this twice

I loved everything about this when I initially got one. BUT noticed that the first one was dripping out of the bottom....somewhere, something was not sealed. Also noticed that after I had dried it out on the inside after using it and before I packaged it back up the next morning to return it, that there was a rusty-looking spot on the inside at the bottom front of the pot. Because I liked all the features, I decided to order another to pick up at the store when I returned the first one. I noticed other reviewers that complained of the rust issue as well, but I figured I'd give the second one a try anyway. This time I didn't use tap water, I used distilled -- again the rust issue. The second one is going back as well.

    How to safely boil water!

    Boiling water is easy but I hate it. There are too many things that go wrong instead of right. On the stove, if you watch it takes forever! If you don't, you can easily forget and most of it is gone or worse. The ultimate nightmare is microwaving since you can easily overexcite the water past the boiling point and one slight bump will cause an eruption. Here is where the Hamilton Beach kettle excels at safety. The kettle has a clear indicator with gauge from 0.6L to 1.0L by the handle to see how much is in it. Set it on the base with a knob in the center to hold it still. Only one switch to turn it on that lights up so you know it is on.     A great product for heating water quickly

    The Hamilton Beach Stainless Steel Kettle is a very good product. It heats water very quickly and can heat enough for more than one dish or beverage. Before receiving the product, I heated water in the microwave, which was time consuming and messy. Now the water is heated in seconds and there is no mess. The product has a window for viewing the amount of water in the kettle. There is a filter in the spout to catch any scale in the water. The filter is removable. For storage, there is a cord wrap under the bottom of the base. When the water is hot, the kettle removes very easily from the base.     Nifty little kettle

    I never was one for an appliance like this but after receiving it and using it, I'm sold. Breakfast is usually quite rushed here and I'd often forget to get my water for tea going and end up not getting a cup because there was too much to do. With this new kettle, if I forget, it's no big deal anymore. It heats the water so quickly that by the time I get a mug and a tea bag ready, the water is ready too. I love that! The only down side is that it only holds a liter of water so I have to heat a couple of pots ( we use BIG mugs here) if someone else wants tea or chocolate. On the other hand, it heats so quickly, it's really not a hardship. I highly recommend this little pot to anyone who is a tea or chocolate or instant soup lover. You'll hav...

    Handy to have around!

    I love my new Hamilton Beach Electric Kettle! I just keep it on the counter right next to my coffee maker with different flavors of teas and hot cocoa mixes next to it. You just flip the switch on it and the water is hot in less than a minute! It sits on a little hot plate and stays hot for hours. Great for dry soup mixes too. Right there waiting for you when ever you want it. Just keep water in it. And it has an auto shut off so if it boils dry or you forget to add water to it it turns its self off. It has a permanent mesh filter that is removable so you can clean it. This keeps calcium and lime that folks with hard water have from pouring out of the kettle into cups.
