The rack is well made, installs and detaches easily, feels firm and secure, tie downs are simple and effective. There were only minimal instructions, so it took some time to figure out that I could loosely attach the bike while the rack was in the fold down position, then push forward to elevate the rack and bike to the driving position. Otherwise, it was a strain to lift and position a heavy mountain bike with a slanted frame. The one concern I have is the cotter pin clips , which feel to me as if they could eventually work their way loose. For peace of mind, I would replace them with the type of cotter pin in which the clip goes through a hole in the pin.
