I bought a couple fleece throws for camping. I washed them before using them. They had a strange texture feel to them, after washing they were fine. I wouldn't consider that a product default. (could be where and how it was stored, chemicals or machines used to make them... and that's purely a guess. Otherwise they worked perfectly for what I needed them for.
