Sterling Sports 6-Player Croquet Set

The clubs had to be assembled (easy) which I expected, but once they were together, they would not fit in the carrying case (the bag is too short AND not wide enough). The clubs themselves seem sturdy, but two of them have messed up paint. One of the balls had scuff marks and scratches and one of the end stakes was missing. I gave three stars because the set is still usable, I had another bag I could use to store the set and I can easily make an end stake. I don't think I should have to do that, but I don't want to bother with returning it...

Nothing like the sets for the 50-60s but still worth the money for some summer fun. The mallets and balls materials seem fine but the mfg. process marginal. Quality control checks could be better--- one ball has a flat spot on it, one mallet had the wooden threads chewed up. The wickets are light weight wire that come folded-up. I might replace them with #16 solid electrical wire. The paint stripes are Not clean/crisp and the mallets will not fit in the bag when assembled (as others have stated).
