These are very good basic quality towels, not velvety thick but quite adequate. Dan River is a brand that's been around for more than 60 years. My reason for not giving five stars? I bought a set that is billed as “dark grey”. I hoped the towels would fade after washing, but no. “Dark grey” is maybe another vogue name for “black”, because these towels are *black*, and won't become grey without months of washing. I received a different color than what I chose. I ordered dusty pink and got a orangey peach color. When I washed the towels before use, they became dingy, faded and stringy. When I used one of the towels to dry off, I was covered in lint. Needless to say, I regret purchasing these towels.
