It comes in a tiny box because its a million pieces, but it wasnt that hard to put together, i glanced at the directions and then put them down and didnt have any issues assembling this. its metal bars and thin plastic sheets covering the bars to support whatever you plan on putting on the shelves. Its its going in my kids closet so it is fine for what we need, but I wouldn't want to use it in an open space. Good buy for the money, and feels sturdy enough to fit our needs functionally, but looks cheap
