I have been waiting decades for this machine!

In 1982 I played Tempest at a Chuck E. Cheese and immediately bought one new from the factory ($3200 plus shipping) for my home. It lasted for quite a while before it failed. Over the following 20 years I purchased two more used because they fail (monitor fries, boards fail, etc). For two decades now I have been without a Tempest machine and I have been trying to find a good alternative. This is it for a fraction of the original price. The most important part of playing Tempest is the spinner, and while the spinner on this machine is not exactly like (or as good as) the spinner on the original Tempest, it is close enough that the game is playable by someone who has played the machine as much as I have. Arcade1Up licensed the Atari code and the game plays almost exactly like the original arcade machine. I purchased this machine only for Tempest and do not play any of the other games, so I can't speak for them. I'm hoping this game lasts a long time. I bought the extended warranty just in case. One of the best entertainment purchases I have ever made.

Buy this before there gone

This is my 5th cabinet and now my favorite. I was intrigued by the No joystick set up. Even though tempest is a vertical game it looks just fine on the horizontal monitor controls are responsive and feel good. I will be upgrading the buttons to happ style but other than that this is a solid machine. Plus the tempest artwork and cabinet shape is awesome!
