I find hand grating to be fatiguing these days and loading up my big food processor and then cleaning it is a lot. The grating is neat and even and the clean up is so easy. Looking forward to summer salads being that much more pleasant to prepare.

I bought the KitchenAid Fresh Prep Slicer/Shredder Attachment thinking it would help me slice a few cucumbers and maybe shred some cheese. What I did not expect was to unlock a level of kitchen power that should honestly require a permit. The moment I attached this thing to the mixer, it transformed from a friendly countertop appliance into a high‑speed produce‑obliterating machine. I fed a carrot into it and it shredded so fast I thought I accidentally opened a wormhole. I'm not exaggerating — I blinked and suddenly had enough shredded cheese to supply a mid‑sized taco truck. I shredded so much zucchini I briefly considered starting a farmers market. I sliced potatoes so perfectly I felt like I should be wearing a chef's coat and yelling “YES, CHEF” at myself. The attachment is easy to clean, but only because it vaporizes anything that touches it. I'm convinced if I dropped a brick in there, it would come out as confetti. Pros: - Turns your KitchenAid into a culinary wood chipper - Slices and shreds faster than your brain can process - Makes you feel like a professional chef even if you can't boil water Cons: - You will shred everything in your fridge “just to see what happens” - You will run out of containers to store all the shredded stuff - You will become emotionally attached to the power Final Verdict: If you want an attachment that slices, shreds, and makes you question why you ever used a knife like a peasant, this is the one. Just be prepared to shred everything that isn't nailed down.
