Dc dc 30amp MPPT charger

This thing is awesome. Basically a battery isolator, dc to dc charger, and charge controller all in one. Most confusing part was figuring out if I had a smart alternator or not. Install is straightforward and works great with the Bluetooth attachment. I like that when your house battery is full it will send the charge to your starting batteries. I paired this with a 175 watt flat panel, 100ah AGM battery, and 1000w inverter. I used 4awg from the starting battery to the controller. Used what Renogy suggested for fuses. Couldn't find a 45 amp fuse so used a 50 from starting battery to controller.

We bought this battery charger to replace a PWM controller in our build and so far, so good. The construction of the unit and its components are great quality and very easy to install. One of the options we liked about the controller is that it charges the starter battery from the solar when the house battery is full.

How did it get to be so smart?

So far, (I have had it installed for two weeks) it is just as advertised. My 200 AH Lifepo batteries are as happy as they can be. I was worried that such a device would overtax my alternator, but my fear was unfounded. I do not know how this thing got so smart, but it does just exactly what I would do to keep my system charged and happy.
