Exactly what I wanted

I've been using these (mini, USB-C) for a few months now and it is exactly what I was looking for. Great for long runs, easy to adjust volume to match surroundings, and no issues in the rain. Because they are open-ear it can be hard to hear when next to heavy traffic, but that is to be expected.

Safe Audio Headphones

The Shokz OpenRun Open-Ear Endurance Bluetooth Headphones are an excellent pair of headphones that allow you to hear your surroundings. They are ideal for running on the road, enabling you to hear approaching vehicles, and have even come in handy for a father dealing with a crying baby. The headphones are great for Bluetooth phone calls and streaming audio as well. The sound quality is good, though it does not fully compare to in-ear headphones. In my opinion, the one drawback is the proprietary charging cord; I wish it used a USB-C charging cord instead.
