The belts are great for my skinny kid but as tight as he likes his pants its hard for him to be independent with this type of elastic belt because it goes so tight then you have to "fish" for the ends inside the pant belt loops to bring it back to the front. Its easier for an adult to do but not for a kid. A regular belt should bring more independence.

They're cute little belts, but they aren't very durable. One was ripped, so the buckle fell off. I like that you can adjust the length, but the girls didn't like the magnetic buckles. They're too difficult to unbuckle.
