Onkyo TXSR494 7.2-Channel A/V Receiver

don't listen to the few ranting and sloppy ratings here that skew the numbers for this receiver. this is a GREAT BUDGET AVR with a lot of advanced features. i've had it for number of years and upgraded to a TX-RZ30 not too long ago, but i've enjoyed it so much that i'm using it in a second bedroom. it's a bit on the warmer, fuller sounding side without ever getting muddy. good power, but it needs to be turned up to like 65-70 for slightly louder than normal levels then it really slaps past that. the included mic for room correction is pretty good (and easy) at setting crossovers, distances with more optimization via manual screen settings - best for smaller/medium rooms. bluetooth level can be a little low and it's good enough for casual music listening, but really built for home theatre. good amount of listening modes - dolby digital + and atmos are a lot of fun and work flawlessly leaving you wondering who's behind you when watching tv. good detail, lots of inputs, easy to set up/use, fully functioning remote, reliable/solid performance - lots of value with this receiver and you can't really go wrong for the price given it's expansive home theatre features
