Key item features

  • Elegant Design: This Safavieh Florida shag rug revives traditional shag with engraved motifs on a plush, raised pile, featuring elevated layers to emphasize concentric rectangles for visually striking floor decor.
  • Optimal Dimensions: The runner rug measures 2'3" x 11' with a 1.00-inch pile height, making it a stylish addition for any room.
  • Durable Composition: Constructed from 66% Polypropylene, 23% Jute, 7% Latex, 2% Polyester, and 2% Cotton, ensuring durability.
  • Care Recommendations: Vacuum regularly (preferably without beater bars), spot clean, and rotate every 3-6 months to prevent uneven wear; professional cleaning is recommended for hard-to-remove stains.
  • Installation Advice: A rug pad (sold separately) is recommended to prevent shifting; for carpet-to-carpet use, a hold pad in-between is advised for protection.
  • Sunlight Caution: Avoid direct sunlight exposure to prevent color fading over time, placing the rug away from direct sunlight whenever possible.
  • Crease Management: Temporary creases from packing and shipping are not imperfections and will recede; back-rolling or reverse rolling can expedite flattening.

I really loved the rug however I ordered a size too small because I intended to put it underneath my brown glass coffee table that is irregularly shaped and it was too small. I didn't want a larger size because I was using it on top of a bamboo wood rug and was afraid that it might attract my dog to potty on it and I didn't know how well it would clean so I returned it. My dog is housebroken but uses a washable pad if I am away too long so I didn't want to chance it. I returned it but it was a beautiful rug for the right household. I don't know how easy it is to clean. That would be my only concern.

I love the look and textures of this rug. Right out of the packaging, there is a slight odor but we were able to drape the rug over the deck railing outside for a couple of hours and the smell essentially went away. Most of the odor seemed to be within the protective wrapping that it came in. The rug laid flat right away! No curled corners or folds that needed to be dealt with. This is my 3rd Safavieh rug. The looks and quality are outstanding, and the prices can't be beat. I was a bit hesitant to even consider purchasing a rug with this attractive texture and such a light color, but this rug still looks as good as new even after months of use. The pile is durable and stands up to repeated vacuuming. Overall, you won't be disappointed with this choice of area rug. The price, quality construction, and attractiveness are exactly what I was hoping for.
