These definitely do run a little bit long my son was surprised. However he will still wear them the material is great and the colors look great on him! These would be especially good for a taller child.

Extra zippered pocket for the win!

Modeled in a size 10-12 by my 10 year old daughter who typically wears a size 12. We went with this size as they are boy shorts so generally run a little bigger than girls sizes and these are a perfect fit in her. She is 47 inches tall and these shorts come right to her knee. They're light weight, breathable and maneuverable for playing sports. She was excited to find an extra zippered pocket on left leg, so 3 pockets total. Great quality athletic shorts!
