Comes with a filter and my cats use this as a main bowl. I have 8 and they tend to tip the bowls this keeps them from doing that it is threaded like a bottle and locks in the dispenser which was a good idea for my situation.

Nice cat watering dish. I like that it has a filter so you can give your pets clean water. The Water Bottle is on the small size but it's OK. I like the Base Attachment it Stays Together well and the Handle Design is what I expected when purchasing.
