I've been using this a little over a year now, and it really works well. I do like this white one better than the black one, as it seems to be made of better grade plastic %26 rubber materials. The buttons are easy to push, the timer setting is easy to use and I like them so much, that I use three of them in our house. One that travels with me like a cordless phone to check on a loved one, periodically, one to cook with in the kitchen, and one in my loved one's bathroom so she can sit on the throne long enough to drink all her drink, take all her pills, and really empty her scepter. It really works great, the first beeping timer setting is plenty loud, and I only use the third level if I want to do a fire drill or if I have earplugs in my ear and the fan on medium speed. Meaning, it's PLENTY LOUD!! Close to 90dbls. Don't be afraid to try this timer out. It's also very easy to reset once you're through using it for the first purpose: You just push in the hour %26 the minute button, simultaneously, to start back at zero %26 reset to a different time level. Construction is well thought-out also, being made of of thick, hard plastic, and even a little resilient rubber, so it's not TOAST when you accidentally drop it on the hard floor. The magnets really work on the back, so you can leave it on your fridge, your front door, or your stovetop, where the old timer is that's long since burnt out. The ease of use is just phenomenal! Get one! You'll wind up getting more for dual purposes, I promise!

I use it as an alarm clock, and it has been quite reliable. The beeping is loud enough to wake me up. Unlike some mechanical clocks, it is silent, and unlike many digital alarm clocks, it does not produce light while I am sleeping. I don't like sleeping with my smartphone in the room because it is too distracting. This kitchen timer is the first one I've owned which can count down for 8 hours or more at a time. Its construction is sturdy and high quality, and it features a clock mode as well as a countdown timer. It is compact, and the magnet is very strong, though I rarely need to put it on my fridge. Ease of use is very good. There are only a few buttons and they are self-explanatory.
