This is my second time purchasing this product. The first time the door covering looked like I had sewn it (it puckered.) I was still so thrilled to have something covering my door, I didn't care. My door is old and I would replace it, but a good front door is expensive! Anyway, the cover reduced the amount of wind and cold and heat coming in. I can really tell the difference. I don't think it does much to dampen the sound. I primed it like it was a canvas and I'm painting a mural on it. This purchase, I bought two, and both of them were expertly sewn. I'm hanging these on the stairwell to see it they can't help reduce my heating costs.
