It's a very well built ottoman that can be used with a sofa, recliner or as a seat. It is not a storage unit. I've gotten two of these, I love them. I have long legs so my feet hang off the foot rest of the recliner when it's extended. I use the ottoman with the footrest extended or not extended and I have plenty of support for my calves and feet. I can tilt the recliner all the way back and relax or sleep with my feet on the ottoman. The cushion is made of springs that are encased in white foam just like a mattress. It's very comfortable to sit on. It's big enough so that your feet won't fall off or roll off. Most of the ottomans I've looked at were 13in high, this one is 19in high so that works well with various chairs or sofas. It's light enough so that you can easily push around or take it to another room. It's definitely worth having.
