All towels shed! Just want to get that out the way. This one is lightweight, so don't expect a warm, plush feel. As others mentioned, each side has a different texture, but both sides dry you off just fine. That's probably why it dries so fast. And honestly, I'm not mad at not having to run my dryer forever just to dry a super thick towel. A
