Assembly wasn't difficult, but does require a strong set of hands for easy assembly. The locking nuts require a little strength to tighten fully- that said my hands are arthritic after a couple decades of firefighting, so I did not dock for that. In theory all the tools you need are included. This Adirondack chair is everything you expect one to be, somewhat bulky, durable, and oddly comfortable for a large chunk of wood fashioned into lawn furniture. The imitation wood is similar to composite deck planking- and should last a long time even in areas prone to termites. Once assembled, these should be low maintenance, and provide years of enjoyment. This brings back fond memories of sitting in my Grandpa's Adirondack chairs in the back of his historic Victorian house- the chairs were roughly the same age as the house and came with it. I'm pleased with it and will probably get another for the occasional companion to watch deer in my backyard.
