Putting this together wasn't too difficult. One does need the ability to cut/trim the plastic fitting for the exhaust hose to fit in the window housing. I used metal snippers. It wasn't pretty but it was fast and it worked well. The directions were pretty easy to follow. That said, I've put many things together so I've gotten pretty good at interpreting written directions for most everything. We are using this unit in our large bedroom. So far, so good. I would recommend this product at this price point.

convienent but not strong enough

It's very convenient; when you get older its hard to lift a large window unit into the window, this is very easy o install,but on the downside it just cant cool like a window unit can,if youre used to an 8500 btu window unit buy a floor unit that's at least 50 % more .

Not 8000 BTUs - barely keeps the space cool

It's not actually 8,000 BTU as it says. It's 5100 BTUs. And it barely keeps the space cool. That is very deceptive! I have really have no choice but to keep it or swelter. I don't have the time or money to wait on an actual 8000 BTU unit. Hoping the weather cools off.
