I've had a full size FoodSaver style vacuum sealer for years but I rarely use it because getting everything out, cutting the bags, sealing and cleaning up becomes a whole production. I was hoping this FEPPO would be a more convenient alternative for everyday use, and after trying it, I think it's going to get used a LOT more. I tested it first with some dried white corn posole and then with fresh grouper. The grouper was a great test because there was some moisture in the package. I followed the instructions to pat the product dry, but the FEPPO still pulled out the remaining liquid. It automatically stopped when the liquid reached the maximum fill level in the visible and detachable tank, which I really liked because it prevented the liquid from being pulled into the machine and ruining it. The one touch operation is foolproof. You start it and let it do its thing instead of having to constantly monitor the vacuum and figure out when to stop it. I don't think the finished seal feels quite as tight as the one from my full-size vacuum sealer, but it did remove the air and handle the liquid better than I expected. I especially like this for bulk grocery purchases. Being able to divide things into portions and quickly vacuum seal them without dragging out my larger machine is going to save me a lot of time and hopefully money by helping prevent waste. The bags are advertised as reusable, although personally I would not reuse the ones for raw proteins. I think the reusable feature is better suited for dry foods. The packaging is nice, with everything organized together in one box. It comes with 30 bags in two sizes, sealing clips, a charging cable and the instructions. Both the quick start card and instruction booklet are clearly written and easy to understand in multiple languages. There's also a QR code for an operating video, which is helpful if you prefer to disseminate information that way. Overall, this is exactly what I was hoping for. It's so convenient. I can keep in the cabinet and actually grab it when I need it. It would also make a practical housewarming gift for someone who is trying to save money and reduce food waste and really, who isn't?
