I'm a curvy lady and these run small. I'm normally a size 14/16 and I bought these in XL and they were too tight around the buttocks area. The waist area was loose and comfy but throughout the seat area it was a bit too tight. I do like how they are long enough to cover more of the thigh area. It does rest at the mid thigh area, depending on your height. (I'm 5'7")
