I really didn't want to drill into the wall, and upon searching for curtains rods, I found this one and took a gamble. The gamble paid off, big time. ____ Curtains: First my new curtains fit over these rods with no problems and room to spare, and they can slide back and forth with ease. Just make sure to measure your curtain holes against these rods. In the description it says, ""1.29" diameter fits most curtain hooks"" And they fit most curtain holes. As I measured mine they were almost 2inches. Just slightly short of 2. ____ The Assembly: The manual is just a front and back page, but it gives you nearly enough information, like 99%. I will explain the 1% it is missing. Though if you understand things better than myself, you may think nothing is missing. Nevertheless, The extension rods, all of them only go on the left. The main pole only goes on the right, the fine tuning nut only goes on the right after the main extension pole. The product specifications will tell you which poles to you. You may or may not need all of them. Do not use all of them if you do not need them. First measure the length that you need. For myself, I needed 127inches. Which converts to about 322cm. Under that measurement the specifications state I needed 2 of the longer extension poles, but not the short one. So I left the shortest pole out and it was correct. I didn't need it. ____ Then I put the two extension poles together, I attached the press fit plate on the left end, then I put the main pole into the two extension poles, after that I put both my curtains on. Make sure to pay attention to the fabric ends of your curtains so that the end piece fit towards the wall, away from you, not towards you. You will understand this once you put them on and see how they face. Then you put on the fine tuning nut. It does have to go bigger side first, smaller side facing the right. Then put on the press fit plate. You can do this solo, I did, but it is much easier if you have a helper. Getting the left side in place, you will then extend the main pole at far as you can. Make sure the little metal piece of the main pole that snaps into place when your done pressing the button, does indeed snap into place, and using the fine tuning nut you can tighten it down very nicely. If the tuning nut feels like it strips, your main pole needs one more adjustment. Undo the tuning nut, pull the main pole further out, one more notch, then do the tuning nut again, the tuning nut can be adjusted to give you one more notch if it is not tightening correctly, and now you should now be able to have a night tight fit, to hold it in place. ____ I love that I can adjust this rod, and the curtains are now able to block out the light when needed for good sleep. I should have done this years ago lol. Anyway, I think this thing is awesome, and if your looking for something like this, give it a go, it is an excellent item, well worth the cost. This rod is very well made. The metal is strong. It has rubber ends so not to scratch the wall. The its adjustable in size. I plan to use it to divide a large room with curtains.
