MuroPanel Abstract Polygon Acoustic Wood Slat Wall Tiles 4-Pack 24"x24", Modern 3D Wall Panels, Walnut

I ordered the MuroPanel Abstract Polygon Acoustic Wood Slat Wall Tiles mainly for two reasons: improving sound dampening/privacy and adding visual interest to my space. After unboxing and examining all 4 panels closely, I have mixed feelings overall. The biggest issue is quality control and craftsmanship. Every panel I received had some type of cosmetic defect in the wood areas. Some damage may have happened during shipping, but much of it honestly looked like manufacturing issues that existed before packaging. There were chipped edges, fraying seams, dust/debris still left on the panels from production, and even staples protruding through the decorative wood surface in a few spots. That part especially felt sloppy. The “wood” itself also doesn't feel premium up close. It seems more like a lower-quality composite material with a laminate-style finish rather than solid wood. From a distance, though, the geometric design actually looks modern and visually interesting, and most flaws become far less noticeable. I do want to give credit where it's due: - The polygon layout/design is artistic and eye-catching - The panels are fairly large at roughly 24"x24" - They seem to help slightly with sound dampening/privacy - They look much better from farther away One thing buyers should know: there is NO hidden hanging system on the back. No hooks, adhesive backing, or mounting wire. The included mounting method is simply black screws that go directly through the panel into the wall. The screws at least blend in reasonably well, but renters may want to plan alternatives. I personally didn't mount mine traditionally because I rent. I placed them above a shelf for aesthetics and a little extra sound buffering, and they work well enough for that purpose. Higher up and farther away, the defects are much less distracting. Packaging could also be improved. One panel had visible impressions transferred from damage to the shipping box itself. Since the backing material is a dense acoustic fiber rather than soft foam, the indentations didn't bounce back. Extra protective wrapping would probably help a lot. For the price (around $90 for 4 panels), I personally think these are somewhat overpriced considering the condition they arrived in. However, I can also understand part of the cost because the geometric assembly work and design layout are already done for you. If someone wanted these as a creative base for a DIY project — adding lighting, painting them, or customizing them further — I could actually see them being useful. Overall: - Functional enough? Yes. - Visually appealing from a distance? Also yes. - Premium craftsmanship? Definitely not. I don't regret purchasing them because they still work for my setup and I enjoy the overall look from across the room. But based on the workmanship, visible defects, and mounting limitations, I personally would not purchase additional panels at this price point unless the quality control improves.
