GET THE FASHION FACTS:

What is an Edwardian Cardigan? An Edwardian cardigan is a button-down sweater designed to mimic the romantic silhouettes of the 1900s to 1910s. They are characterized by a highly fitted, waist-length body, a V-neck or high collar, large decorative buttons, and dramatic, voluminous bishop or puff sleeves that are loose on the arm and gather tightly into tall cuffs at the wrist.

What is the difference between an Edwardian Cardigan and a regular cardigan? Standard modern cardigans tend to be loose, slouchy, long-line, or dropped-shoulder. Walmart recommends an Edwardian cardigan because it’s highly structured, tailored, and short. All the volume of the garment is concentrated in the romantic, balloon-like bishop sleeves.

Are Edwardian Cardigans comfy to wear? Yes, exceptionally so! At the turn of the century, cardigans were introduced as sportswear because they allowed for a full range of movement. Today’s inspired knits use ultra-soft wool, cotton, or cashmere blends, giving you all the structure of a vintage jacket with the cozy, stretchy comfort of a sweater.

Best Cardi this Season

What no one is telling you,is that those Edwardian sleeves will make yout waistline look smaller. And just so you know, the gold knot buttons look like jewelry. And you will want both colors, the black, and the charcoal. Finally, this hardworking cardi will pair with your pants, your jeans, and your skirts.
