It can be a challenge to identify the right bed for a given dog. I recently purchased one that turned out to be too soft. Then I purchased one that turned out to be too hard. But, this one is just right! It has the egg crate foam pad interior cushion, which is encased in a zippered liner, which is nice. It will be very easy to clean it. That part is inserted into the main bedding through a zippered opening that runs almost the entire length of the cushion, making it easy to insert. That zipper is hidden under a flap. The bottom has a non-skid fabric that seems water resistant, if not waterproof. Nice to have the option of a green color, which often isn't a choice. I found no odor when opening the vacuum-sealed sections. This is particularly good since dogs' sense of smell is so much more sensitive. Neither man or beast needs to inhale concentrated chemical odors. The depth from back to front is deeper than most. Rectangular dog beds can often be long and narrow. Not this one. My dog 'took' to lying on the bed right away after inspecting this new addition. Just one warning: Be VERY careful when opening the box. It is stuffed full with two vacuum-packed rolls which press up against the interior of the box. There is no wiggle room. So, even the slightest use of a blade can pierce the bags and, potentially, damage the product. It would be better if there was a piece of cardboard or something protecting it, but, there isn't any. BTW, the assembly instruction are printed on the outside of one of the rolls. There are no separate instructions. I had to retrieve the plastic from the trash to see the recommended 'inflation' time, which I could have avoided doing if I checked in advance.

We got this pet bed for our 6 year old Rottweiler mix. He is a rescue dog and we don't think he has ever had a real dog bed before so we wanted to spoil him a bit. This bed comes in a smaller package but "fluffs up" really nicely within about 24 hours of unboxing. It is really well cushioned and soft, and the inside comes out easily enough to make it feasible to wash the cover. We haven't washed that yet so I can't speak to it's durability, but it feels good quality and is really soft. So far we are really happy with this dog bed and would definitely recommend it.
