Great vent cleanout tool

This was so easy, and results are just amazing. I thought I might have a small amount of lint build up in the discharge pipe, but I was not fully prepared for the volume of link that was removed with this cleanout brush. I have a 20' run of pipe with a 90-degree bend to the dryer. we were having to run multiple dryer cycles to actually dry the cloths. After removing what looked like a small dog the dryer now drys in a single shorter cycle. Because of the ease of this product I will be cleaning the vent pipe every New Year's and Fourth of July.

Great Tool. DIY And Save Money!

Great tool! My house is 40 years old and the dryer vent has never been cleaned. My vent has 2 bends. This tool is flexible and the 2 bends in the pipe was not a problem. I used 13 rods, 16 feet, worked like a charm. I used a clear 4" container the size of a yogurt container, fits perfect on the vent pipe. I cut a round hole in the bottom of the yogurt container, the size of my shop vac hose and another small hole just bigger than the diameter of the brush rod. Stick brush rod through small hole, attach brush. Stick shop vac hose in larger hole. Secure to wall with duct tape. Open dryer vent flap outside. Use duct tape to hold open. Start up the shop vac and attach drill to the first brush rod making sure your drill is spinning clockwise. Caution: if drill is spinning counter clockwise the rods will unscrew from each other and you will loose the brush and rods in the vent pipe! Start the shop vac. Work the brush back and forth a few times in the vent pipe and watch the lint get sucked into the shop vac. That's why using a clear container is nice so you can see the lint being removed. Continue to add rods one at a time until you reach the outside vent flap. Using a shop vac and 4" container prevents a big mess. This is a simple procedure taking about an hour and saving money is like making money! Have fun!
