VTech 2 Parent Unit Digital Audio Monitor with Night Light (DM221-2)

This is the second set of the same model. The first set bought around 2011 lasted a long time and we broke the wire cord. At that time we used it for our babies. Now we use it to communicate with the kids when they are on another level of the house. The new feature I appreciate is that I was able to choose not to have the parent unit beep every time I push a volume button. You have to read instructions to get that turned off. The new feature I hate is that if you lose power to the base unit then a minute after receiving power again this alarming female voice repeats this long recording about safety. Soooo not necessary! But otherwise it is really good. Clear sound that can pick up the slightest noises of your baby, and it has red lights letting you know how intense their sounds get. I am a light sleeper now and the sound part I remember was hard to find a compromise on so I could sleep through the baby shifting in his crib. But I guess that would be a challenge with any baby monitor.

This has been a God send for me. I'm able to passively monitor my Mom at night, when doing the laundry in the basement and doing gardening. I especially like the push to talk button. Mama gets a little startled and disoriented when I'm speaking and I"m not there but it is really helping me to care for my mom. This is much better than one of the emergency buttons.
