These work well with a loafer type shoe.

The material is soft, and the binding isn't too bulky. I worn them with 3 different types of shoes to see how they worked for me. The best results were with a pair of loafers. They stayed in place and didn't bunch up around my toes. I tried 2 different types of mile type slip ons. One had a fuzzy lining and one without. While wearing both of these shoes the tie topper moved around and didn't stay in place. My cold feet/toes were nice and warm. If you have small feet you might have a harder time keeping them on.
