(12 pack) Swanson Canned Chicken a la King with White and Dark Chicken Meat, 10.5 oz Can

I have always loved chicken ala king, but never bought it already made. I always made my own, but I decided to try it and I was impressed, especially for being in a can! I just cook for myself now so I made some rice, threw this in the microwave, put it over the rice, had a nice little salad and it was a great dinner. It's definitely something that will always be in my pantry now for a quick but very good meal.

For a totally fast, easy supper, I will open a can of this and serve it over buttered toast, or sometimes even buttered noodles. Very satisfying, cheap, and zero effort. This is one of the canned items I not only tolerate, but enjoy because it's comforting, warm, creamy, and has a lovely rich flavor. When I make chicken a la king myself, I go all out with multi-colored peppers, mushrooms, sauteed onion and celery, tarragon, sometimes dill, finished off with a few dollops of heavy cream, cream cheese, sour cream, or sometimes just a roux to thicken it. But in a pinch, this is very satisfying.
