I use this girdle for support and posture and especially on days when feeling weak so this is great for arthritis etc even if not postpartum. Love how wide this is at 12 inches so I don't have to use a separate item to cover the lower back/hips or the upper belly just below the ribcage. The large is 45.5 inches long. It has 5 thin boning rods that are flexible. I can't tell if they're plastic or steel but they are very soft and bendable. It has two pockets on the inside of the girdle so you can put ice/heat packs inside. I noticed that the tag was on the outside instead of the inside, so I just cut it off. I will definitely keep using it.
