Birch Shells Provide Balanced, Rich Tone

The Stage Custom Birch set features 100 percent birch shells, known for balanced and focused tone with full lows, clear mids and crisp highs. Birch provides superb projection and cut, working well for live performance or recording. The birch shells give this set a warm, rich voice that can handle any musical style.

Low-Mass Lugs Allow Maximum Resonance

Yamaha's low-mass lugs are designed to let shells vibrate freely, producing maximum resonance and sustain. The minimal lug contact also helps the drums produce a wide open, flowing tone. You'll hear the difference in the drum's lively, resonant character.

Air Seal System Ensures Round, Uniform Shells

Yamaha's exclusive Air Seal System is used in crafting the drum shells to ensure each shell is perfectly round and of uniform thickness. This precision construction results in superior tone, tuning and durability. The Stage Custom Birch shells are built to provide years of great sound and performance.

High-Gloss Lacquer Finish

The Stage Custom Birch set features a high-gloss lacquer finish in a classic Yamaha amber shade. The lacquer finish enhances the natural beauty of the birch wood and provides a durable, protective coating. The smooth glossy finish also makes the shells easier to keep clean.
