Solid controller

The controller is pretty good for the price point. It has the removable floating D pad. The sticks are Hall Effect and feel good. The controller overall the plastic feels alright. It has some good features for this price point. It does have macros and four back buttons. They are not removable or customizable paddles but that is fine. Maybe even actually better than hassling with those. The screen is fine. Sort of gimmicky. You do not really need a screen for keyboard functions but it can make it easier for some people rather than navigating button combos I guess. Macros and turbo function can all be dealt with there. All the buttons are pretty clicky. Clickier than some of my other controllers. It is fine just clickier. LB and RB have a pretty clicky and springy sound. There is what looks like a slot to put an attachment on the top which I do not know what that is for. The thing that really sets it apart and what makes it good at this price point is the trigger switches that let you move them from a long pull to a short press with the toggle. The toggle is actually nice and you can flip it quickly while using the controller in a natural hand hold. Which I like. I usually find the short pull to be better for most games and I often use it on other controllers when it is available. It is one of the biggest things I miss on controllers that do not have it. The RGB seems to be always on and you can adjust brightness. There are no modes or color changing options. On other controllers I have they are single color but you can set them to follow the sticks or activate when pressing certain buttons. So they could make the RGB better but for the price it does have a lot of features and feels solid. It has a dongle for easy and low latency easy sync PC use. Make sure to use the button on the dongle to pair. I did not see it and had to look at the manual. I should have known since they all use that. If you want all the features in this controller I think it is a fine controller. Not the best in every way but a solid controller with a lot of features not all have especially at this price.

Looks really cool, feels good in the hands

I got this to pair with my Fire HD 10 tablet, to play Luna games on it. The downside for me was the instructions. They were written in good English, but with print so small and faint I had to resort to using a magnifying glass to read it. That was a little ridiculous. Also, if it was in the instructions, I didn't find mention of how to charge it. I plugged the controller into a USB A outlet I have on an outlet extender, and the screen illuminated with an icon of a battery with a lightning bolt through it. No sign of how fully charged it was. I looked online and found that if you wait eventually bars will appear. When I looked the next morning, indeed there were full bars. So, I unplugged it and connected it to the tablet via Bluetooth. That sync was very easy to accomplish. I did note that unlike my Xbox controllers, this has an actual power switch on the back. Different, but not better or worse in my view--you may have your own opinion about this. The heft and feel of this is very comparable to my Xbox controllers. It might even be heavier. It certainly feels solid and looks really well put together. The grip has that pronounced bumpy feeling so it's not going to slide around in your sweaty hands. I'm not professional at gaming, but for gamers the ability to customize the buttons on screen is probably an important feature. I couldn't be bothered since it's hard enough for me to learn the default button layout the games coach you on, plus the difficulty in reading the small print in the manual is real. The game play for me was every bit as good and solid as playing with the Xbox controller that came from Microsoft. Note this won't work with an Xbox. To me that, and the fact you cannot replace the battery for one with a bigger capacity, are the biggest downsides to this controller. And after I played for a short while and plugged the unit back in to fully charge back up, it was back to showing no bars for a while. It couldn't have been dead yet so that charge indicator would be a good thing to fix with the next software update if they do that sort of thing. Overall, if this could be used with my Xbox, I think I might've preferred it to the original equipment. But for the unreplaceable battery. It just looks sharp and feels like a high quality piece of equipment in the hands. And the price is competitive with the original equipment so I think it's a fair and reasonable proposition. Happy I got it, and if you understand these limitations and they won't bother you, I can recommend it to you too.
